Prick ‘n A Pint’s GPs expertly deliver current general health information in plain language and in line with the Royal Australian College of GPs guidelines.
The program is structured to develop men’s health literacy by examining specific health indicators over ten themed sessions. Each theme is supported by our Five Pillars of Health which in turn become the foundation for preventative action.
The information is relatable to each man’s own blood tests. We provide a medical picture of what ‘good’ looks like, what ‘bad’ looks like and what preventative health actions can be undertaken to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
Our aim is that men hop out of bed in their eighties, feeling happy and healthy. Too many men suffer preventable illness and too many die of preventable disease. It is easy to blame men for having “poor lifestyle choices” and being “bad at talking about stuff” but we know the root cause of poor health is the paralysis men experience through social disconnection and knowledge gaps. Let’s fix that.
Men like to fix things. This program lets men fix stuff. Prick ‘n A Pint lets participants know what needs a bit of work and then we simply hand them the tools. The rest is up to them. May their footprints be followed.
